Stephens Plastic Surgery is pleased to be offering the MicoLaserPeel® by Sciton.
What is the MicroLaserPeel®?
The MicroLaserPeel® is a superficial skin resurfacing process that removes a thin layer of damaged skin in order to improve the texture and provide a more youthful appearance of the skin surface. It provides superior results with minimal downtime or recovery because it can be applied with great accuracy. The procedure is performed in office by a licensed aesthetician and can be custom programmed to specific skin conditions.
How does the MicroLaserPeel work?
The MicroLaserPeel’s electromagnetic beam is carefully metered over an area to be treated. The laser wavelength is calibrated to a specific depth which removes the top layer of some of the damaged skin cells that make you look aged and tired. As the skin begins the healing process, fresh new skin cells begin to grow and resurface the treated area. The results provide reduced wrinkles, improved skin color consistency.
What happens during the MicroLaserPeel® procedure?
The skin is cleansed on the treatment area and safety protector shields are provided for the eyes. The computer-guided scanner is positioned by the aesthetician and moved around the treatment area. The laser is held in place for a few seconds depending on the size of the area being treated. Generally the procedure usually lasts around fifteen to thirty minutes.
